Spanning over the next nine weeks, Bonalu is a time-honored celebration that holds immense cultural significance for the people of Telangana.

On a momentous Thursday, the Golkonda Bonalu kicked off its proceedings from the revered Langur House Crossroads. In adherence to tradition, esteemed dignitaries such as Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Mahmood Ali participated in the inaugural puja. As a customary ritual, these revered individuals presented the deity with the traditional pattu vastram, symbolizing devotion and reverence towards the goddess.

Following the commencement ceremony, the grand procession of Bonalu set off from Langer House, traversing through the vibrant streets of Golkonda. The lively procession weaves its way through Golkonda Bada Bazaar, Chota Bazaar, and ultimately towards the majestic Golkonda Fort. The streets are adorned with vibrant decorations, resonating with the joy and fervor of the devotees.

A vital aspect of the Bonalu festival is the embellishment of the deity with resplendent jewelry. The sacred image of the goddess is bedecked with exquisite ornaments, enhancing the divine ambiance. The offerings of Bonalu, which include specially prepared dishes, are presented with utmost devotion and respect. This symbolic act of offering showcases the deep reverence the devotees hold for the goddess and is considered an act of gratitude for her benevolence.

As the procession nears its end, the atmosphere brims with anticipation and devotion. The culminating act of Bonalu, known as Thottela Samarpana, takes place with great solemnity. Devotees gather to offer their final prayers and express their gratitude to the deity. The air is filled with a sense of spiritual fulfillment, as the festival concludes on a poignant note, leaving an indelible impression on the hearts of the devotees.
