It is reliably learnt that the Hyderabad police arrested the pastor Kuntam Edward Williams at Paderu in Andhra Pradesh for his fearmongering new year message predicting Genocide in India in the year 2023. Later, he was released on police station bail after being served with a notice to appear before Hyderabad police within one week. One Mr A Gopal Rao of Hyderabad had filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police, alleging that Pastor Edward William’s new year speech amounts to hate speech and is likely to incite communal violence. The complainant quoted a Youtube Video (since then, the Church has made the youtube video link of Pastor’s speech private). Based on the above complaint, Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad, registered an FIR against Pastor Edward Williams under sections 153(A), 295(A), and 505(1)b of the IPC.
On 7th January, Nijam Today reported the hate speech of Pastor Kuntam Edward Williams during a New year event by Bethel Church in Mushirabad, Hyderabad, in which he made serious allegations against the BJP-led Union Government that terrified the people there. “According to the American top secret agency report available to him, in 2023, there will be religious attacks and genocide in India and lakhs of Christians will be killed”, he said. Comparing Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah with Nebuchadnezzar saying it is their ‘God-assigned duty’ to hate Christians.
As per the sources, Pastor Kuntam Edward Williams was arrested by Cyber Crime Police in Paderu of Erstwhile Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh.
