Sewa International helping students in Ukraine

In the present Russian – Ukraine war, Sewa International Europe in coordination with HSS Ukraine assisting the Indian students in this crisis. There are around 20 thousand Indian students studying in various universities across Ukraine. These students are stranded, facing dangers of conflict, shortage of food, transport and shelter. They are arranging buses/trains for transport and food for these students while on their way to border check posts where they are then taken by Indian embassy staff to airports.

While, Indian embassy in Kyiv (the capital) is giving necessary advisory on where to go for safety and how to reach border posts with neighbouring countries in the west of the country, particularly Poland, Romania and Hungary, Sewa International and HSS Ukraine assisting students at ground level.

Sewa Europe has presence in 10 major cities of Ukraine. on 26 Febrauary, a group of 150 students were successfully transported by buses from Vinnitsa to Chernovtsy with the efforts of HSS Ukraine/Sewa Europe. At Chernovtsy, students were provided night shelter, food and transport for onward journey to Romanian border. Over 3000 students have registered on Sewa Europe helpline. They are provided information, guidelines and moral encouragement.
