Assam – RSS Sarsanghchalak to launch a research-oriented book on CAA and NRC

Guwahati. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji is visiting Assam to grace a session of RSS Assam Kshetra to be held, following all necessary Covid-19 protocols, at Sewa Bharati Janajati Chhatravas in Adinggiri area of Maligaon locality inside the city. The RSS chief will leave for Chennai on 22 July.

The two-day session on ২০-২1 July has been attended by a number of senior RSS Adhikaris, Karyakarinis of Assam Kshetra along with various responsible RSS Prant Pracharak, Prant Karyavah and their deputies from its north Assam, south Assam, Arunachal Prant, Manipur Prant, and Tripura Prant.

Tomorrow morning at 11 am, RSS Sarsanghchalak will launch a book titled ‘Citizenship Debate over NRC & CAA: Assam and the Politics of History’ at Shrimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra in presence of many distinguished personalities. Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Guwahati University vice-chancellor Prof. PJ Handique will also share the dais with sarsanghchalak.

The author of the book Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta expressed gratitude to Dr. Mohan Bhagwat for their gracious presence on the occasion. Prof. Mahanta, who teaches at Guwahati University, expects an informed debate on the issues raised in the book, published by Sage International in the international category.

“The monograph is a historical analysis of politics of identity, immigration, NRC and CAA in Assam,” said Prof. Mahanta adding that it is a product of research works for the last seven years. One of its most important features would be huge archival sources collected from different parts of Bharat, he concluded.
