“Protect Temples”: Chinna Jeeyar set out on “Chaitanya Yatra”

On 17-Jan, Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy has begun a state-wide “Chaitanya Yatra” from Mantralayam, Kurnool district. Before setting out on the yatra, he said that it’s not enough for the devotees to merely visit temples and offer prayers, but also that they should take up the responsibility of protecting the Hindu places of worship.

Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji has taken up this yatra to create awareness among the people to respect temples and other places of worship and not desecrate them. He told the devotees that the Endowments Minister and the TTD Chairman have assured him of proper actions to protect all the temples.

Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt’s Peethadhipathi Subudhendra Teertha discussed these issues with Jeeyar Swami before he set out on the Yatra.

Two months ago, the Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple in Varugur in Mantralayama Mandal was desecrated. He started his yatra from this temple, then went on to Kosigi and ended the day at Adoni.
