Pastor Praveen Chakravarthy, who is suspected to be behind the destruction and desecration of temples in Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested by police last night. It is alleged that he has conspired to destroy Hindu temples and establish Christ Villages across the State. Cases have been filed against him under Sections 153A, 153B, 1C, 505, 295A, 124A and 115 of the IPC. Police have also sealed his bank accounts.
A conversation that Pastor Praveen Chakravarthy purportedly had with a donor in the US went viral on Twitter. The Pastor is heard telling the donor that there are 3,642 Pastors in their Associaton, that they have established 699 Christ Villages so far and that they would reach 700 Villages in another month’s time. Netizens have reacted with outrage and anger at the assurance that the Pastor was giving the US donor.
