Ram Temple at Ayodhya will be a symbol of national self-respect –Swami Govinda Dev Giri Maharaj

The temple being built at Ayodhya is not just a structure of stone and brick, it is an edifice of national spirit and a symbol of national self-respect, said Swami Govinda Dev Giri Maharaj, treasurer of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. Swami ji was speaking to media in Hyderabad on Jan 11 appealing to people to become a part of its Ramajanmabhoomi Nidi Samarpan Aqbhiyan.

Explaining about the construction of temple, Swamiji added that the construction work is progressing well and is expected to be complete in the next three-and-a-half years in the allotted land of 2.77 acres, and will consist of three floors. The temple is built using stone only, including the foundation material and there will not be any usage of steel and cement at any stage.

Swami ji appealed to everyone to provide generous financial assistance in remembrance of the sacrifices made by millions of devotees of Bhagavan Rama in the last 500 years.

Swami ji will be touring all corners of the country, including Arunachal Pradesh, Nagabhoomi, Andaman and Nicobar to Kutch in Gujarat, Kashmir to Kanyakumari to reach out to people from all walks of life, including those living in the mountains and the Himalayas, and take part in the construction of the magnificent Sri Rama Mandir.
Sri Bandari Ramesh, convener in Telangana for Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, and its Telangana president Visansetti Vidyasagar, said they would reach out to three crore Hindu families in the State as part of the campaign to collect donations.
